Inverclyde Business Growth Programme: Unlocking Potential and Fueling Regional Success
Over the past few of months, we had the opportunity to collaborate with Inverclyde Council, and to work alongside 14 ambitious businesses in the Inverclyde region. Here’s a look at what we accomplished together and the impact we’re proud to share.
The Inverclyde Business Growth Programme is a transformative initiative designed to help ambitious companies learn the skills to secure to fuel their next phase of growth. Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the programme was delivered through a series of 6 workshops and 1:1 follow-up meetings, helping Inverclyde businesses fast-track their growth plans through access to expert advice and experienced business support.
We were appointed by Inverclyde Council to deliver the programme which included:
- Delivering 6 workshops and providing advice on a range of critical topics, including:
- Strategies for growth and creating a growth mindset
- Finance, including access to and sources of finance
- Harnessing Net Zero and sustainability for small businesses
- Sales, branding, marketing, and promotion
- Managing teams and employees for success
- Creating and developing a digital and social media presence
- Innovation of products, services and operational efficiencies
- Providing 1:1 follow-up sessions with the business leaders to help them to refine their strategies and implement actionable plans
- Supporting the businesses as they began to create and implement their growth plans, turning ideas into tangible results to help them thrive and prosper
It was an incredible group of Inverclyde businesses to work with, each bringing their unique challenges and aspirations to the table and creating business growth in Inverclyde. Here is a little about the companies involved:
- Clyde Injury Clinic: A healthcare provider offering expert physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.
- Clyde Tool Hire: A privately owned and trusted provider of tool and equipment hire services.
- Downriver Coffee Roasters: An award-winning specialty coffee company passionate about sustainability and community.
- Inverclyde Windows: Experts in window, door, and conservatory installations.
- Kilmacolm Farm Tours: Offering unique farm experiences and educational tours.
- Kip Marina: A premier marina offering berthing, boat sales, and marine services.
- McArthur Scott: an independent, family-run estate agency based in Gourock, offering residential sales, lettings, and mortgage services across Scotland.
- McCaskies Butchers: A family-owned business renowned for its high-quality meat products and café services. They are particularly acclaimed for their award-winning haggis and black pudding.
- Nicholson McShane: an innovative architectural practice known for its bespoke, functional designs and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions across the UK.
- Software Training Solutions Scotland: provides high quality digital skills education, training and facilities particularly amongst groups that are disadvantaged financially, socially or geographically.
- Titan Spirits: A craft distillery creating premium spirits with a modern twist.
- TweetiePie Media: A creative agency specialising in digital marketing and branding.
- Welsh Walker: a firm of Accountants offering accountancy, audit, taxation and business consultancy and support services.
- Xcite Play: A family entertainment centre focused on fun and community engagement.

This experience reinforced the power of collaboration and the importance of equipping businesses with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. It was inspiring to see the dedication and ambition of the businesses we worked with, and we’re proud to have played a role in each of their growth journeys.
