Dip in Scottish economy ‘less than predicted’

The Scottish economy shrank by less than predicted during the second quarter of this year. A revision of official data found that GDP had fallen by 0.2% in the period April to June, compared to the first estimate of 0.3%, as a result of stronger growth in the services sector.

Scottish builders remain resilient despite uncertainty says FMB

Results from FMB’s latest State of Trade Survey has found that Scottish SME construction remains resilient in the third quarter but fell slightly from the previous quarter as result of continued uncertainty around Brexit and a potential second independence referendum.

Funding boost for University of Salford’s Business Tech programme

The University of Salford Business School has secured funding designed to help micro entities engage with technology and boost productivity. The funding has been made available through the government’s £8 million Business Basics Programme run by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, in collaboration with Innovate UK.
