Co-operative sector shows poor growth despite exceptional economic performance, report reveals

Growth in the co-operative sector has slowed with turnover increasing £400 million to £37 billion, reveals Co-operatives UK. Despite the recent decrease in expansion, the economic performance remains strong, with a survival rate of 72% over five years, 29% higher than traditional business models.

£1m in grants for new social enterprises in Scotland

The Scottish government has announced that social enterprises across Scotland are to benefit from a £1 million funding package for voluntary and social groups. The funding is going to a range of projects including the Brand for Growth programme which helps social enterprises to develop and grow their brand to increase opportunities.

Manchester property still in demand with 117% spike in incoming residents

The residential sector in Manchester is continuing to boom as more people move to city centre locations. Demand for prime location accommodation recorded a 117% rise in July this year, compared to the same period in 2018.

Glasgow office market boost as Argyle Street plan gets nod

Developer Osborne & Co has received planning permission to create 270,000 square feet of Grade A office space on Glasgow’s Argyle Street. This is the second boost for Glasgow this week after property developer, FORE Partnership, began work on 96,000 square feet of Grade A office space on Cadogan Street.
