The Scottish Government is set to create a new ‘digital commercial service’ in order to improve its market engagement with tech sector suppliers. The new unit is designed to enable government to bring in specialist procurement knowledge and engage with the market in new way which builds on the success of its CivTech programme.

North West confidence down but bodes well against UK outlook

Business confidence in the North West of England has fallen during November, according to Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. The latest Business Barometer shows that confidence in business prospects stood at 10%, with lower economic optimism at 2%, despite this the region did continue to outperform other areas of the country.

New initiative aims to help thousands of Scottish women in business

A new initiative is being launched in Scotland to help women start and develop their own businesses. The Women’s Business Station will offer practical business and enterprise training courses, workshops, seminars, coaching and mentoring and aims to be positioned in five towns across Scotland and a target to help 10,000 women by 2030.
