Scotland demands £52million in bid to brace for a no-deal Brexit

The Scottish Government has requested £52 million from a contingency fund to prepare for a no-deal Brexit. The request includes funding to support the effect of no-deal on rural communities, increased demand on Marin Scotland and Police Scotland activities, additional communication to EU citizens in the country, and poverty mitigation measures. The UK Government said money would be available where Scotland faces disproportionate costs.

North West remains UK’s manufacturing powerhouse

A new report from Make UK, the manufacturer’s organisation, and business advisory firm BDO has revealed that the North West is the largest, most productive industrial area for manufacturing in the UK, worth £28.5 billion in 2018.

Low carbon heating in Scotland gets £30m fund

A major fund to create low-carbon heating infrastructure has been opened to applications. The Scottish Low Carbon Heat Funding Invitation has made £30 million available to businesses and organisations for innovative solutions to heat buildings as part of Scotland’s targets to have every home use renewable or low carbon heat by 2024.

Next phase of MSP master-plan revealed

Proposals for the next phase of the Manchester Science Park have been revealed. The plans include the development of a new building that will expand and enhance the facilities on offer for highly innovative companies working across computer engineering, energy technology, light manufacturing and materials science.
