Fear of not being paid limits Scots firms willingness to export
A report by Censuswide for UK Export Finance has revealed concerns over cash flow, including late payments and a shortage of working capital, has contributed to Scottish SMEs unwillingness to export.
North West profit warnings hold steady despite continued economic volatility
The number of profit warnings issued by listed companies in the North West has remained steady despite ongoing economic volatility, according to the latest EY Profit Warnings report. In total, 25 profit warnings were recorded in the North West, compared with 26 in the same period last year.
Do export businesses grow faster than other businesses?
Companies with only domestic customers grow less than those exporting, according to research by Capital Economics for UK Export Finance. The report surveyed more than 1,000 SMEs in the UK and found that business with purely operate domestically reported annual growth of 8.4% over the past 5 years, whereas this increased to as much as 15.2% for businesses which export.
