New district has added £380m to city’s economy

Manchester’s NOMA neighbourhood has had a positive impact on the city, according to a new report assessing the economic and social impact of the major development scheme. The report found that more than more than £210 million in wages and £380 million in GVA is generated by NOMA each year, with Manchester City Council also benefiting form a further £4 million in annual business rates revenue.

Million pound plus home sales at highest since 2008

New research from Savills reveals the number of £1 million plus homes being traded in Scotland has reached its highest level since 2008. There were 231 transaction of homes in this bracket in the year to the end of June, including 19 above £2 million. Edinburgh accounts for two-thirds of Scotland’s million pound property market and almost 80% of transactions over the value of £2 million.

Health Innovation Manchester opens £300,000 funding call for companies with innovative healthcare solutions to transform care

Health Innovation Manchester has opening a £300,000 funding call for businesses with technologies that can improve healthcare in the Greater Manchester area. Businesses and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) with products or services that are market ready, or close to being market ready, can apply for up to £75,000 through the Health Innovation Manchester Momentum.

DHI secures £10m investment for digital health innovation

The Scottish Funding Council is to invest up to £10 million in Scotland’s Digital Health and Care Institute, along with the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorate. Launched in 2013, the Digital Health and Care Institute collaborates with universities, colleges, manufacturers and other health and social care organisation to find new ways to manage illness and provide care
