Scotland’s aquaculture industry braced for £10 million boost
A £10 million funding package has been revealed to encourage growth in Scotland’s aquaculture sector – including salmon farms and mussel producers to help it deliver a £3.6 billion boost to the economy by 2030. The investment in the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) will be provided by the Scottish Funding Council, Scottish Enterprise, and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).
Work starts on £2.5m power project to help city achieve its carbon neutral targets
Work has begun on a £2.5 million project designed to help Manchester reach its carbon-neutral target by improving the electricity network in the region. The Civic Quarter Heat Network aims to provide low-carbon heat and electricity which will power civic buildings throughout the city centre.
Value of Scottish housing market on course for record year
According to the latest Property Monitor from law firm Aberdein Considine, the value of homes sold in Scotland has increased and is on course to top £18 billion despite uncertainty surrounding Brexit. The value of homes sold in Scotland in the third quarter of 2019 is on course to reach £5.3 billion, up £100 million on the same period last year.
