UK unemployment falls to lowest level since 1975

Unemployment levels in the UK fell to their lowest level since January 1978 in the three months to October. The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show unemployment levels fell 13,000 to 1.281 million, with the employment rate rising to an all time high of 76.2% between August and October.

Small and medium-sized enterprises will drive sector success, says Scotland’s life sciences sector

Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are driving the success of the life sciences sector, according to a new survey. The survey from industry leader Life Sciences Scotland has revealed  the growth of smaller enterprises will play a key role in the sector’s ability to achieve its ambitious turnover target of £8 billion by 2025.

EICC set for record sales and profits in 2019

The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) is on track to deliver £55 million to the Edinburgh economy through direct expenditure from its events. The EICC hosted some of the world’s most high profile conferences in 2019 and is on track to host a record number of events, estimated at 220.
