UK services businesses plan international push amid UK uncertainty

48% of the UK’s largest services firms are planning to take their businesses to new international markets as uncertainty about the economy grows, according to a new report from Lloyds Bank. The Businesses in Britain report revealed that bosses of UK services firms believe that the EU has the biggest potential for growth despite the present uncertainty.

£35M Citylabs 4.0 announced for Manchester

Manchester Science Partnerships, the UK’s leading science and technology park has revealed plans to invest £35 million in a major expansion of Citylabs in partnership with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Housebuilding ‘key economic growth sector’ for Scotland

Speaking at the Built Environment Scotland Development Conference, Chief Executive of Homes for Scotland Nicola Barclay has emphasised the importance of the construction sector for the Scottish economy, with house building contributing £370 million to government and local finances and supporting 80,000 jobs.

Northern Rail could be nationalised

Transport secretary Grant Shapps announced he is considering taking the Northern Rail network out of private ownership and placing it in the control of a state owned operator following repeated late running services and cancellations.
