Over a third of UK SMEs expect economy to worsen over the next year

According to the latest Global Business Monitor from Bibby Financial Services (BFS), 39% of SMEs in the UK expect the economy to worsen over the coming year, as a result of concerns over the ongoing trade war between the US and China and Brexit. The report also found that 29% of UK businesses do not plan to invest the rest of the year, compared with 8% in the US.

Engineering giant announces its head office will be in Manchester

Tech giant Siemens has announced it will be moving its UK headquarters from Surrey to Manchester to support the future strategic direction of their industrial core business. The move is to create 60 jobs in the local area.

Approval of Speyside distillery to boost economy and create jobs

Independent bottler and whisky distiller Gordon & MacPhail has been given the go ahead to construct a new distillery and visitor centre in the Cairngorms National Park. The new facility will be capable of producing two million litres of spirit a year, generating £23 million per annum, with an anticipated 50,000 visitors.
