Aberdeen and Edinburgh ranked among top UK cities to live and work in
Edinburgh and Aberdeen ranked top in Scotland and among the best places to live and work in the UK, according to the latest Demos-PwC Good Growth for Cities index. Aberdeen ranked sixth, one place ahead of Edinburgh in seventh place, with increases in income, job growth and skills development opportunities being cited as the key drivers of growth.
Cyber Resilience Centre launches in Greater Manchester
A joint venture between Greater Manchester Police and Manchester digital has been launched to provide advice to support businesses from cyber threat. The Cyber Resilience Centre aims to support 150 Greater Manchester businesses in its first year, with local students being offered work experience roles to help boost skills in the region.

Engineering company commits long-term future to Renfrew site
Doosan Babcock has signed a new 15 year lease at Westway business park, marking the largest industrial property deal of the year in Scotland. The company, which operates in the thermal power, nuclear, oil and gas, petrochemical and process industries, will retain 60,000 square feet of Block E, which is adjacent to the new £8.8 million Lightweight Manufacturing Centre.

Wolverhampton and Walsall rise into fastest improving cities in the UK
Wolverhampton and Walsall have ranked in the top improving cities in the UK in PwC’s Good Growth for Cities 2019 index. Wolverhampton and Walsall scored above the UK average on transport and income distribution, however scored below average for all other indicators including skills, house prices, earnings and work-life balance.
