London and South East secure bulk of private equity investment

Companies in London and the south-east have increased chances of attracting funding as they receive 75% of all private equity investment in the UK, according to a new study. The value and number of equity finance deals with small to medium sized enterprises and knowledge intensive and high growth firms across the UK increased between 2011 and 2017.

Financial exports growing fastest in UK regions

According to a report from private sector industry advocacy group TheCityUK, Scottish and Welsh industry exports showed the largest growth in areas of Scotland and Wales (7%), compared to 2% growth for London between 2012 and 2016.
