Manchester is the best city in the UK for IT careers, study finds

A new report by leading IT trade association CompTIA has identified the UK cities with the best IT career opportunities. The UK Tech Town Index found that Manchester is the best place in the UK to start or develop a career in information technology (IT). Manchester secured the top spot due to its wide range of opportunities for career progression due to the large selection of jobs on offer and the low cost of living.

Flexible working is ‘good for business’ admit Scottish business leaders

Almost nine in ten of Scottish business leaders offering staff flexible working say it has positively impacted their business. The survey of 257 Scottish business leaders, conducted by YouGov for Family Friendly Working Scotland, shows employers reported benefits to business including increased productivity among workers (37%) and better staff retention (40%).

Speed up devolution to boost North East productivity, says CBI
