New annual index set to tackle Scotland’s productivity puzzle – CBI Scotland

CBI Scotland and KPMG Scotland have launched a new annual Productivity Index that aims to determine the impact and effectiveness of productivity enhancing measures in an attempt to address persistent weak levels of productivity growth.

Manchester enjoys FDI success although wider concerns remain

According to EY’s 2018 UK Attractiveness Survey, Manchester has been ranked as the best performing city in the UK for attracting foreign direct investment (53%).

UK economic growth picks up as stockpiling bolsters manufacturing

The UK economy picked up in the first quarter, with growth of 0.5%. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has attributed this to manufacturers stockpiling in the event of a no-deal Brexit.
