Manufacturing in the UK is ‘suffocating’ as output fell to a seven year low, with companies scaling back output in a response to a drop in orders amid concerns over a no-deal Brexit, according to the latest Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI).
Businesses in Scotland more downbeat about Brexit
Business confidence and confidence in business prospects in Scotland fell by 17 points to 0% and 26 points to 6% respectively in July, with political and economic uncertainty being cited as a key reason for this.
